The Afterlife
One day while spending an afternoon on the shoreline of Lake Michigan I came across my first piece of seaglass. I held it up to the sky, examined it closely and realized that it held so many stories. Every scratch held a record of its life like the lines etched in a persons face.. As most beachcombers would attest, my curiosity turned into a daily passion of collecting. Zen-like walks along the beach in search of storied treasures has become both a mantra and an obsession. Beautifully polished relics of otherwise discarded trash. I love the idea that these once crafted objects have found a second purpose as storied jewels anyone might encounter on a walk along the water. This series is about the beauty of that afterlife--each as individual as the object that originated its journey.
